TFN-The Carleton Place and District Youth Centre are gearing up to start fundraising for its first annual Skateboard-a-thon, Skate of Mind, which will take place on Saturday, March 27. Teams of 5 youth will be skateboarding inside the youth centre for 12 hours in a relay-style format to help raise funding to support programming at the centre. Youth will be canvassing the area for donations over the next six weeks. To help identify them, each member will be wearing a badge issued by the Youth Centre with their name, a number and contact info.
TFN - People First of Lanark County held a huge fund-Raising Event last June and plans to host the event again this year in Carleton Place on Saturday August 21. People First needs sponsors for the live Entertainment portion. Apr 20-Once again, Fulton’s is teaming partner with the Mississippi Mills Fire Department Station 1 & 2 and the Almonte & Pakenham District Civitan Clubs to raise money for a local family in need from 10am to 2pm at Fulton’s Pancake House & Sugar Bush. There will be Lots to do for the whole family, including entertainment by clowns, horsedrawn rides and face painting for the kids. All proceeds from the face painting booth and aerial ladder will be donated to the fundraiser. Climb the aerial ladder ($10 per person), try on the firemen’s gear and explore the equipment and trucks.
